Great place! Adele met us by the door when we arrived. After our long journey from US we were very pleasantly surprised to find milk, eggs, cold cuts and cheese in the fridge. The place is in the immaculate condition, very clean and comfortable. Located on a quiet street. Adele was very helpful in explaining local parking rules. Adele responded to every text immediately. We have relatives on the island and hopefully will come back again. We would be very happy to stay at Adele’s place again.

Really great stay. Lovely hosts and nice apartment. There was food in the kitchen, which was a lifesaver due to our delayed arrival. Kitchen had everything we needed to cooking as well. Comfortable lounge with games and the bathroom with toiletries just made this one of the best stays we have had in a while

Thank you both! We really enjoyed our stay. And I mean it when the food on arrival was so great. Our flight was delayed and I was so hungry and everything was closed. The only that two of us struggled with a bit was the mattresses in the twin room. We found them a little hard and thought a topper could be a good idea.

Ideal location for what we needed. Great communication with Adele before and during our stay. Loved the extra toiletries as we’d forgotten a few and all breakfast essentials in the fridge plus bread and a full fruit bowl meaning I didn’t need to go shopping straight away. And for a small kitchen it had everything we needed to make family meals daily including lots of condiments/herbs/spices etc. There was secure bike store at the rear of the property and although the location isn’t picturesque it’s quiet and perfect if you’re there for an event in Douglas like we were with only a 10 minute walk down to the town/promenade and only a couple of minutes to corner shop/ decent coffee shop/takeaways. Beds were comfy and the linen/towels crisp white which is always a bonus and the shower had a constant hot feed and felt luxurious. Adele was super accommodating and it was reassuring to know she was only a phone call away if anything happened.

We had been traveling for a few weeks before we landed at John & Adele's place, and after a couple of so-so AirBnBs, this place felt like we had come home. It was comfortable, clean, well-organized and we could tell that someone actually cared about our comfort. The kitchen was stocked for us with eggs, bread, butter, jam, bacon, tea, coffee, milk, sugar, apples, bananas, and even CANDY bars! What a treat! We felt like we were staying at Mom's house, only she wasn't home. Love, love, love! Highly recommend this little gem in Douglas if you are traveling to Isle of Man. It is a short walk to restaurants, shops, the bus and ferry terminals, the promenade, the museum, and the steam train. Great value for the price and we were sorry to have to leave that beautiful island and the terrific accommodation.

Lovely place to stay. Spotlessly clean with everything possible provided, anything we forgot to bring was there already! TV & WiFi provided, along with a selection of games, DVDs and books. Quiet little street that is walking distance to all the shops and prom. Clean towels and bed linen along with spares, two copies of the front door key. Really couldn’t say enough about this rental, we had a lovely time and would definitely stay here again.

Sauber, gemütlich und in der Innenstadt von Douglas gelegen. Im Haus war alles vorhanden, was man braucht. Adele hat sogar fürs erste Frühstück auf der IOM eingekauft, weil wir erst mit der Fähre um 22 Uhr eingetroffen sind. Adele hat auf jedes Mail schnell geantwortet. Zu Fuss ist man in zehn Minuten am Hafen. Für das Auto muss man jeden Tag einen Parkplatz in der Nähe der Wohnung suchen. Das war aber auch nie ein Problem. Im Haus befindet sich die Parkuhr, die man auf der ganzen Insel braucht. Ein super Urlaub. Danke nochmal Adele.

A lovely, quirky, cosy cottage in central Douglas. Adele (the host) was lovely and the wee extra touches just added to the whole experience. Had every amenity you could possibly need as well and was spotlessly clean. Parking was a challenge since it's all on-street and time limited but Adele provides you with a parking disc which you can use all over the island. We would definitely stay again and would recommend a stay here without hesitation. Pretty perfect really :-) Can't ask for more than that

The cottage was a lovely cosy home from home. The hosts had gone over and above, welcoming us upon arrival and the cottage was a delight when we entered. Communication had started as soon as we booked and continued until departure which was great. The cottage was festively decorated and as we had never been away for Christmas before it was a great touch. The cottage was spotless, warm and welcoming. The extra bits that the hosts had left for us were excellent. All facilities needed were in the cottage. Washer, dryer, full kitchen, constant hot water and heated throughout. Douglas centre was literally a few minutes walk away. We had never visited the Isle of Man before but we will definitely return and we will rebook this property.

Pleasant cottage in quiet location, toiletries, tea, coffee , milk etc .supplied plus basic groceries, this saved going out to shops upon arrival, close to bus services, pleasant hosts.

There is a nearby street lighting that shining in to the second bedroom via both gap end of wooden venetian blinds. It caused my friends some sleepless nights so in order to minimise the problem, could you please consider to add blackout roller blinds under the wooden venetian blinds. Thanks.

Fantastic!
Couldn’t have asked for anymore. Cottage was clean and tidy, not too far from the seafront (10 min walk for us) near shops and a couple of decent takeaways. But it was the personal touches that make this a worthwhile place to stay. After getting up at 3am and not eating it was nice to arrive to tea, milk, coffee, cheese, eggs, bread and ham. Along with choccy biscuits!! To name but a few things. An abundance of soaps and gels in the bathroom. AND as it was our Anniversary a bottle of fizz on ice when we arrived!! You don’t get any better than that. Sad to say we never met Adele as she did knock to say hi but we never heard the door bell. But she made it absolutely clear that she was there at our beck and call if we needed anything. We had a fantastic stay and will be coming back. Thanks to both Adele & John for making this such a lovely home from home. We hope to meet you soon..

Fabulous cottage in Douglas
My family and I stayed for a week at Adele’s cottage in Douglas. We received the warmest of welcomes from Adele and her son and were truly astounded by the personal touches that Adele provided. From an amazing selection of provisions to WiFi, selection of games and DVDs - what more could you ask for with a 12-year old in tow? The cottage became a home-from-home and there was nothing more that we could have wished for. Thank you Adele - you made our holiday something special. I would totally recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable and homely place to stay in Douglas.

Surpassed expectations!
The cottage on the hill is enchanting as are its' hosts, John and Adele. Clean and cozy. Kitchen and bathroom amenities abound. Grocery stores, five minute walk. Promenade, seven-minutes (uphill return slightly longer, but wonderful!) Tourist center, train station, ten-minute walk. Enzo's restaurant (couple sitting next to me said best on island), three-minute walk. My experience was joyously memorable and I hope to return. Thank you kindly, John and Adele.

Adele could not have been more friendly and helpful. The property was clean, conveniently located and had all we needed. The welcome was warm, the food provided was much appreciated and the fresh flowers were a lovely touch.
